ON-SITE AUCTIONS

On-site auctions can be a lot of fun but only if you are prepared. Allow yourself plenty of time to get to the auction and preview the items. Stake your seats in an optimal location. You may be willing to give up being on the front row for the shade of a nice big tree.

For on-site auctions, you will need the following:

• Maps and directions to get there
• Hats, coats, extra shoes - depending on weather
• Comfortable folding chairs. Be sure your name is on them.
• Drink and food
• Umbrella for sun or rain
• Packing boxes and wrapping materials
• A way to carry boxed items to the car if needed
• Hand wipes, tissues and small bag for trash
• Acceptable payment. On location not all auctions have access to telephone lines for credit cards

If you are attending an auction that requires an overnight stay, get your hotel reservations early. Make alternate plans for food, drink, chairs, and packing materials if needed.

Have a secure way to store your purchases until you return home.
